At the inaugural Asia Pacific Partnership Ministerial in January 2006 in Sydney, Australia, the Partners agreed to the development of Task Forces to formulate sustainable solutions to our shared challenges through practical approaches in eight key sectors:
Task Forces are staffed by up to four official members per country. The U.S. representation on each Task Force is composed of two U.S. Government (USG) members from federal agencies and two private-sector members who represent broader interests in each sector. U.S. Task Force members meet domestically during the year, and meet with the other Partner members at Task Force meetings up to twice per year.
